Robert Barnett is Assistant Professor of Contemporary Tibetan Studies and Director of the Modern Tibetan Studies Program at Columbia University. He is the author or editor of numerous books including Lhasa: Streets with Memories, A Poisoned Arrow: The Secret Petition of the 10th Panchen Lama and Tibetan Modernities: Notes from the Field on Social and Cultural Change (co-edited with Ronald Schwartz).
