Times Higher Education makes Terry Eagleton and Matthew Beaumont‘s The Task of the Critic: Terry Eagleton in Dialogue their Book of the Week,with a review by Willy Maley:

Eric Walberg reviewed the third edition of Aziz Al-Azmeh‘s Islams and Modernities for Al-Ahram Weekly.

…the author provides a searing critique of both postmodernism and (multi)culturalism and of the radical Islamism that has arisen over the past 30 years in response to the Western onslaught on the Muslim world. … it is to recognise, as Al-Azmeh demands we do, the importance of history, of fixing our eyes on its sweep and the social and economic forces shaping it.

Christian Salmon is a writer and researcher at the Centre for Research in the Arts and Languages at the CNRS in Paris. He is the founder of the International Parliament of Writers, and editor of the organisation’s journal Autodafe. He has worked as a literary critic and is the author of several works, including Kate Moss Machine, Verbicide and Devenir Minoritaire and writes a regular column for Le Monde.
