Paige Arthur’s Unfinished Projects reviewed in the Times Literary Supplement
June 25, 2010 by versouk
Paige Arthur’s work on the relationship between Sartre’s politics and decolonialisation, Unfinished Projects: Decolonization and the Philosophy of Jean-Paul Sartre, has been well received by the TLS:
Arthur’s insightful and careful exposition of Sartre’s anti-colonial trajectory from 1945 [which] constitutes a powerful corrective to [the] revisionist interpretation of his “Third Worldism”.’
‘Arthur also clearly demonstrates that Sartre has much to contribute to debates about “globalization”, political violence, oppression and resistance – the unfinished projects to which the title refers.
Works by Sartre which are available from Verso include: Critique of Dialectical Reason Vol I & II, Between Existentialism and Marxism, War Diaries
